Defining an Extra Terminal Service
A new Direct Terminal Utility enables you to select a window, and return a list of the associated DLLs. You can then select a DLL and return the hllapi function name. These can be used as values for the HLLAP function name and HLLAPI Dll Path properties of the Extra Terminal type. This saves a lot of time when developing Terminal Connector solutions. To define an Extra Terminal service:
1. | In Real-Time Designer, select the Physical Objects tab, and then select the Services tab at the bottom of the Physical Objects pane. |
2. | Click New Service or right-click the Services branch and select Add > New Service. |
3. | On the Service Editor tab, select Extra Terminal from the Service Type drop-down list. |
4. | Under New Service in the Services tree, select HLLAPI.Dll Path, and set the initial value to the path of the library that supports hllapi/ehllapi/whllapi (for example, hllapi32.dll). |
5. | Set the HLLAP function name. This property is often hllapi (case sensitive). |
6. | (For Extra Terminal Permanent Connection functionality only) Select Connect Type. The default value is True. In most cases, this property should not be changed. Consult a NICE Connectivity Expert before changing it. |
7. | Select Session Name, and enter the initial value of the session name from the Service Editor tab. For example, the most common session name is A. |
Using the Extra Terminal service does not require you to make additional setting changes under System Settings.
